Antique 1940’s Peach Pink Liquid Silk Charmeuse Dressing Gown with added Vintage Pins - Reworked by Me, One-of-One

A luxurious, 1940s liquid silk charmeuse satin dressing gown in a soft peach-pink hue. High luster, very soft to the touch. Charmeuse fabric is known to be the most expensive silk fabric on the market. Considering how much yardage this piece has, it’s safe to say that the cost to make the dress alone was astronomical.

Cut on the bias for an elegant, fluid drape. Designed with dramatic puff shoulder half sleeves, this beauty contains expanding cuffs that open and close with three metal hook and eye closures. I consider this to be a really special detail that I wish more pieces carried as makes this piece much more functional for a variety of sizes with it's additional inch in diameter at the cuff opening. The waist ties create a flattering silhouette, while contrasting ecru Alençon lace trim tops the shoulders, sleeve openings, and waist sides for a refined, romantic finish. Hidden metal eye snap ins and hooks at the waistline. 

The collar is adorned with a hand selected, collection of pins which adds unique character, charm, and represents a work of art curated by me. The pins are removable so you can switch them out and wear them on other garments, allowing you to really get the most out of this piece. A stunning piece of vintage loungewear that I would personally wear outside the home in a heartbeat. She is feminine, a collectible piece for those that collect antique slips and robes, and she's masterfully crafted to boot.

Condition:
Great overall antique condition, 9/10. No holes, some light marking that is not visible to the onlooker. Presents beautifully for its age.
