Rare Antique NRA 1930’s Pale Pink Silk and Lace Slip Dress by: Wonder Maid Mutual Garments - One of One

Ultra rare, and hard to find, NRA antique 1930’s bias-cut slip dress made by: Wonder Maid Mutual Garment Company. The original clothing tag is still attached inside.

This ethereal and chic beauty is made from 100% silk fabric in a pale pink hue. Fit with antique cut out lace inserts in ecru, placed along the deep V neckline all the way through the shoulders and into the back area shoulders. A delicate yet meticulous detail of light mint green lace is lined along the arm openings (front and back), as well as, lines the deep V neckline on the backside. The backside also includes a cute little keyhole opening. Attached at the empire waistline are thin satin ribbons that tie in back, ensuring a perfect form fitting, body elongating silhouette. 

This garment is very versatile as it could worn to formal events, as well as, casual settings - and everything in between. Which will result in getting a lot of use from this garment. The silk fabric is so incredibly soft to the touch, so breathable and airy, very comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I am amazed at the high level of preservation of this nearly 100 year old garment.

This dress was redesigned by myself in a couple of ways. First by adding a true antique, 1900’s, 100% silk satin rose embellishment at the center of the chest. As any antique dress collector will know, these floral adornments are very expensive and hard to source in present day. I sourced the antique flowers separately, and waited for the perfect garment to place this flower on - and I found it! Secondly, I attached two baby blue 3D roses right below the antique flower’s placement. All additions are hand placed. stitched, and conceptualized by yours truly.  

Incredibly versatile, this beauty makes for the perfect ensemble for a bride to wear as she gets ready to walk down the aisle, an elegant yet unique look for a dinner date, a picnic at the park or, as I like to do, throw a slip on while walking my dog.

These slip dresses have a special place in my heart due to how easy it is to throw one on when you feel like you have nothing else to wear.

Condition:
Excellent antique condition. No visible imperfections, the silk is very soft and supple. This slip is nearly 100 years old so it is not in “like-new” condition, but it is an exceptionally great condition considering it’s age. Price reflects condition, rarity, and re-work additions.
