Remarkable, museum quality, antique late Victorian era c. 1890’s (!!!) pure silk and lace gored skirt with a train. One of the most beautiful skirts I’ve ever seen - period. It’s well over a 100 years of age and it’s still somehow in great condition. The fabric is strong, there are no cracks in the hemline details, no discoloration. I mean - it’s astonishing. The striking silhouette is so flattering, almost looks like a 1990’s/2000’s Galliano for Dior or Alexander McQueen piece (although many designers get their inspo from antique pieces). I don’t know if I’ll come across another one that is anywhere near as well preserved as this jaw dropper.
Condition:
Excellent condition - period. Preserved remarkably well. I didn’t see any visible imperfections. However, it is over 100 years of age so there might be pin sized imperfections consistent with age that are not visible.
