This extravagant vintage 1940s Miriam Originals silk satin wedding gown is a rare, highly sought-after bridal treasure. Characterized by its luxurious, liquid silk satin fabric, this ivory gown glistens with a rich sheen and boasts a touch of grandeur with its 86" cathedral train. The modest illusion neckline gives the gown an off-the-shoulder look. The princess-cut bodice is fitted, with a basque waist shape, emphasized by piping at the seams. Note the shape of the skirt— with pleating only starting at the side waist, which adds fullness while still creating a flattering, nipped-waist look. Long sleeves that gather at the elbows and come to a point at the wrist. A dramatic set of 40 small fabric-covered functional buttons down the back and 5 fabric covered functional buttons along the cuffs. Contains original netting under the bottom pleat.
All of this work is done by hand, which is really remarkable.

Condition: Great vintage condition. Very well maintained, no visible imperfections. My tailor replaced the fragile antique neckline mesh with strong vintage mesh from the 1970’s.
