This extravagant, timeless, vintage 1940's liquid silk charmeuse satin wedding gown is a rare, highly sought-after bridal treasure. Designed by: Miriam Originals New York City (original advertisement seen in photo 8). Characterized by the multiple yards of luxurious, liquid silk satin charmeuse fabric, this ivory gown contains a rich sheen that glistens in the light, and boasts a touch of Old Hollywood glamorous grandeur with its 86" cathedral train. The modest illusion neckline gives the gown an off-the-shoulder appearance, with an added juxtaposition sultry femininity expressed through elegant design. The princess-cut bodice is fitted, with a basque waist shape, creates an eye catching silhouette - emphasized by piping at the seams.

At the gown’s waistline, the skirt gathers all around, which aids to create the appearance of fullness, while still architecting a flattering, nipped-waist look. Long sleeves gather at the elbows and come to a point at the wrist. An astonishing set of 40 fabric-covered buttons are placed along the spine, fitted with satin loops to pull glamorous, yet not too overstated, the piece together - without a singular loop or button out of place. Both wrists contain 5 fabric covered functional buttons, placed along the bottom of the sleeve.

This wedding gown comes with its original wedding bag that it was purchased in by the original owner!

Condition:
Great vintage condition. Very well maintained, no visible imperfections. My tailor replaced the fragile antique neckline mesh with strong vintage mesh. His skill set is so advanced, that it’s impossible to see that there were any alterations made. Price reflects documentation, alterations, excellent quality, and rarity.
