Opulence and old Hollywood glamour come together in this antique 1930’s black silk velvet "Velour du Nord" opera coat. Made by: AWB Boulevard. An incredibly rare find, this stunning piece is nearly 100 years of age and has been exceptionally well preserved. If you scroll to the last photo, you’ll see an original 1930’s company advertisement for these coats - which is just the coolest thing. This opera coat embodies elements of Hollywood’s golden era which you will exude: sophisticated, undeniably elegant with exquisite taste.
The large semi-shawl shaped collar is made from premium genuine fox fur that has been maintained exceptionally well. The fox fur does not display any shedding, there are no tears or breakage of any sort, spots of missing fur, and the fur is still extremely soft to the touch. The hard-to-find contrasting stripe design adds another level of blasé.
The coat features soft balloon shaped sleeves with inch long wrist cuffs, two functional black Bakelite buttons fastened elegantly down the front. Fully lined. There is no fabric content specified for the lining, but it feels like it is crafted of silk. Attached to the lining at the waist is a satin tie and hook closure, which you can tie in a bow to create a beautifully tailored fit. Marked Fabric: "Velour du Nord," found written on the clothing tag still attached inside. The rich silk velvet drapes with regal weight and shine, creating a silhouette that feels both powerful and feminine.
Model is an XS, the coat is unpinned. Suitable for women's sizes XS, S, M. There is no size label. Please refer to measurements to ensure proper fit.
