Absolutely stunning, antique late 1930’s, early 1940’s two-piece bias cut gown and bolero dress set. Crafted with 100% silk taffeta fabric. The vibrant spring floral pattern, in my humble opinion, contrasted with the light crème background gives the illusion of wearing a painting.
The gown features a classic 1930’s empire waist, delicate purple ruffle trim along the neckline that continues onto to backside, and an elegant open back accented by slender straps. Below the straps and down the spine are functional fabric-covered and true pearl buttons, topped with two charming bow details.
The matching bolero showcases dramatic dome shaped puff shoulder sleeves. The cuff/arm opening is detailed with two fabric-covered buttons, adding a delicate detail for a beautifully romantic finish. The bolero and gown can be worn together or styled separately, creating multiple looks from one extraordinary ensemble. A perfect piece to wear as a wedding or bridal party guest, special occasions, or anywhere you’d like to make an unforgettable entrance. Just be prepared to be stopped and complimented endlessly when wearing this around.
Model is a size XS and wears the dress pinned. Best suited for a S or M, depending on desired fit. Please refer to measurements to ensure proper fit.

Excellent antique condition. No visible imperfections, sturdy fabric. Lot’s of life left in this beauty. It's truly astonishing how well this set has been preserved considering it's age. No color bleeding from the floral pattern. Price reflects rarity and condition.
