Remarkable, timeless piece of pure magic, vintage 1970’s disco fantasy, this incredibly rare chiffon maxi gown is the definition of 1970's disco glam rock, studio 54 vibes, with a dash of bohemian flare. Designed with sweeping, elongated ethereal angel sleeves, each lined with soft, bright orange marabou feathers. This beauty is un-like any other dress i've ever seen before, folks will be turning heads and complimenting you right and left when wearing this piece. If this gown was my size, you would not pry her out of my cold dead fingers. But because it is not my exact size, let my loss be your gain.
This beauty is fit with a semi-high collared neckline, contains a sultry little keyhole detail below the neckline, and total 70’s dIsco glam, elongated angel wing sleeves with hemlines made of 100% authentic, deep orange marabou feathers. The dress is fully lined in what feels like orange silk rayon fabric that is extremely breathable and comfortable. The top dress layer is constructed from silk chiffon fabric in a grey-ish tone, adorned with silver, illuminating, dots in varying sizes, which you can assess were sewn onto the fabric one by one. I cannot even fathom how long this gown took to creat from start to finish. Easy to use zippe placed in the middle on the backside, with two metal hook and eye closures added to the collar in back.
I say this with confidence, this garment belongs in a museum where the best dresses from the 1970's are showcased. This gown stands as a remarkable collector’s piece—rare, iconic, and impossible to replicate. A once-in-a-lifetime find for those who seek fashion as art.
There is no designer tag so at first I thought it was hand designed and effectively home made. By a designer who's mastery is designing dresses, but homemade non-theless. Then, by sheer chance, another luxury vintage store reached out to me saying they had this piece in a completly different color-way, yet it was made from the same pattern design. They sent me a photo and sure enough, they are right. However, I was told that dress sold nearly a decade ago and that they haven't seen anything like it since.
Seen on XS pinned. Suitable for women’s sizes S, or M, depending on desired look. To ensure proper sizing, please refer to the measurements below.
Just want to note, due to the placement of the zipper and the seams around it, plus the overall masterful construction of this gown, it would be for easy for a tailor or seamstress to reconstruct in anyway to grant you the perfect fit.
