Incredibly beautiful, antique, Edwardian porcelain white silk tulle lace bridal gown with Schiffili embroidery, c. 1914. The exceptional craftsmanship, paired with the high level of preservation for this 100+ year old gown, makes this a museum quality piece.
The bodice is crafted from two layers silk net fabric, topped with intricate Schiffili embroidered roses and small scattered dot work in front and back. Contains two dagger shaped floral lace filets down the center. Cute bib, lace lined detail placed along the neckline on backside. 3/4 quarter length sleeves with triple tiered frills at each arm opening. The skirt is double layered with net fabric, which gives the dress more of semi-sheer appearance. The first layer acts as a liner and is topped with double tiered frilly bottom skirt hemline.
The top layer mesh layer of the skirt is adorned with more Schiffili embroidered roses cascading down and around front to back. Below the embroidery is an attached piece of incredibly intricate filet of lace spanning 7 inches, with a unique and eye catching shark tooth hemline detail. 10 fully functional metal hook eye closures along the upper left hip and along the waistline, with a few metal snap in’s placed at the waistline. I re-designed this piece by having my seamstress expertly attach with a baby pink satin bow at the waistline to cover up where the seam meet.
This beauty is suitable for a spectacular engagement shoot, a bridal shower, wedding rehearsal, wedding ceremony or heck - this dress can be worn outside a bridal environment as well.
