Heavenly, ethereal, perfect for the bride who wants to wear an exceptionally preserved, one of a kind, bridal ensemble, I present to you: a two piece, vintage 1940’s semi-sheer chiffon dressing gown and slip dress in egg shell white with Alencon lace inserts. Made by: Tula (tag still attached and legible along the inside neckline of the dressing gown).
The dressing gown is made from 100% airy cotton chiffon fabric that is both breathable and luxurious. The bodice contains a deep v neckline that stems all the way down to the fitted waist. The chest carries subtle pleating placed right along the waistline’s hemline. The waist is comprised of Alencon lace inserts in cream, topped with a 7 fabric covered dome shaped button closure that really snatches in your waistline. The dressing gown is fit with many meticulous details such as ruching from the neck to shoulder, hidden shoulder pads that create short puffed sleeves, with more Alencon lace inserts in front and back of the sleeve. The floor length bias skirt boasts a massive 143” sweep, that has you looking like a real life floating angel anytime there is movement.
The slip dress is also made from soft, breathable cotton chiffon fabric, with a bias cut skirt, giving you that elongated classic 1930’s/40’s feminine silhouette. The frontside is fit with a shallow v neckline with another Alencon lace insert in the same matching cream color as the dressing gown. I hand sewed 4 half dome pearl buttons down the middle to give it that extra glamorous flair. The chest is designed with vertical pleating details that run along the shallow v shaped empire waistline, with a V shaped backside neckline that stems down to the empire waist.
