Heavenly, ethereal, perfect for the bride who wants to wear an exceptionally preserved, one of a kind, bridal ensemble, I present to you: a two piece, vintage 1940’s semi-sheer chiffon dressing gown and slip dress in dove white with Alencon lace inserts. Made by: Tula (tag still attached and legible along the inside neckline of the dressing gown).
The dressing gown is made from 100% airy cotton chiffon fabric that is both breathable and luxurious. Designed with a a deep v neckline, subtle pleating placed where the chest meets the fitted waistline, to really accentuate your form. The dressing gown is fit with many meticulous details such as ruching from the neck to shoulder, hidden shoulder pads that create a puffed shoulder, with more Alencon lace inserts placed in front and back of the short sleeve. The waist is topped with 7 functional fabric covered dome shaped buttons that really snatch in your waistline. The floor length bias cut skirt boasts a massive 143” sweep. Anytime you walk or there is movement, this piece gives you the appearance of a real life floating angel.
The slip dress constructed with the same soft, breathable cotton chiffon fabric, contains a bias cut skirt hemline, giving you that classic 1930’s/40’s elongated feminine silhouette. The frontside is fit with a shallow v neckline, made with an Alencon lace insert in the same cream color as the dressing gown. I hand sewed 4 half dome pearl buttons down the middle to give it that extra bit of glamorous flair. The chest contains pleating that stops at the waistline. The neckline in back is V shaped ans stems down to the empire waist.
