Exquisite, vintage 1970’s, silk chiffon blend maxi dress in a hard to find, stunning color way and floral pattern. The uncommon black silk blend fabric contains a multitude of colorful spring/summer flora and fruit, including one of my favorite flowers, lily of the valley. Fit with a 1930’s inspired empire waist, a deep scoop neckline with ruffle trim, light puff shoulder cap sleeves, sheer sleeves that lead to ruffle lined wrist cuffs topped with black metal snaps on each wrist. Adorned with a deep inky black silk satin bow at the waistline, zipper in back. Pleated prairie style skirt hemline. Lined with very soft, light weight muted black cotton fabric.
I’ve reworked a couple elements to make it more functional, and I’ve restored it to near perfection (I’m hesitant to say it’s perfect as it’s still a vintage garment after-all).
