Glamorous Vintage late 1940’s/early 1950’s Strapless Tulle Ball Gown with Hand Sewn Silver Sequin Appliqué - One of One

This show stopping, glamorous vintage late 1940’s/early 1950’s strapless floor length ball gown with silver sequin circle appliqués is one of my favorite garments I’ve sourced thus far. There are no tags, so I’m guessing it was homemade by a professional dress maker, as the pattern and overall architecture is masterfully constructed. 

This stunner features a strapless boned bodice, horizontal pleating along the bust, fully lined in robin egg blue cotton taffeta fabric, formed with a defined waist, and a full volume skirt that does not require a petticoat to be worn underneath in order for you boast a feminine silhouette. The skirt is comprised of three layers of fabric starting with the lining, topped with a layer of tulle, then topped with an outer layer of tulle which I consider to be the true star of this show. The top layer is adorned with sparkly and luminous, hand sewn, silver sequin circular designs, ascending from smallest to largest as you make your way down the dress. Such a unique design, that must have taken an insurmountable amount of time to complete. Easy to use, blue metal zipper on the left side. 

I am nearly stunned by the immaculate condition of this gown, esp considering its age. There doesn’t seem to be a single piece of sequin missing, which tells me that this dress was owned by a lover of fashion who understood the importance of gown preservation. Perfect for collectors, wedding guests looking for a stunning gown to wear to the ceremony and/or reception, a gala, or heck - I'd wear this beauty to lunch with my girlies. 

Worn by a model size XS unclipped, who noted the comfortability and ease of movement when modeling this dress is. Can fit up to a S. Please refer to measurements to ensure proper fit.

Condition:

Excellent overall condition. I’m hesitant to say it’s perfect - just because it is a vintage piece - but it is as close to perfect as a garment can be. This dress must have been worn once or twice, and then carefully stored away. Does not have a vintage smell. Price reflects condition, and rarity.
